Sunny Saturday

Wasn't Saturday a fine day? A good to be alive day. Ireland always looks better when sunny. I was out roaming with the camera again.

    Hi Omani. Ha ha! Sh*t, how did you find out, spotted a yellow Ford Cortina in the distance!!??

    I'm on a mission to catalogue the area, which I think is quite beautiful, so I'm deliberately taking fairly formal, classical photographs. When I'm finished that I'm moving on to more modern arty type shots. Be patient!

    Yes, it was a perfect day for photography. I love Killiney Beach, I spent a lot of time there before I moved south :)

    What are you doing to your photographs to create this look? It's almost an antique effect. As Omani pointed out...the John Hinde look.

    Hi Claire. Not too much work. The bright sun creates most of the colour. I increase the contrast a little and the colour saturation slightly.

    These John Hinde thoughts...I'm not sure whether it's good or bad...I've visions of a Donkey with turf on the beach!

    I think it's a good thing. The whole retro photography look has come back around. Digital photography makes everything so perfect and true-to-life that we miss the "imperfections" of the older cameras and film so we add them back.

    I think it's the colour that's making me think of John Hinde...turquoise sea and yellow gorse. It's lovely.
